The electrowinning cell is based on the efficient parallel flux system, by chemical decomposition of the gold bearing ore and the passage of an electric current, through the solution positive and negative gold ions are attracted to the cathodes and anodes. The design makes it highly efficient whilst reducing operation involvement to a minimum.

Cell Features
The practical design ensures easy operation. The cathode frame is lightweight and small enough to be handled by one operator with no special hoist needed. Unloading and recharging of steel wool is simple and straightforward and facilitated by the provision of a cathode winder.

Polypropylene is used for all parts of the cell, which are non-conductive. This material has excellent chemical resistance to electrowinning solutions and excellent high temperature stability.

The Johndec electrowinning cells are compatible with both AARL (Anglo) and Zandra elution systems. It also can be custom manufactured to suit specific requirements and specifications.
