CUPBOARD SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE

Manufacturers in Australia, can also provide full onsite service
and maintenance on all makes and types of Fume Cupboards, Fume
Exhaust Fans, Fume Scrubbers and other Chemical Exhaust Systems.
All services and maintenance is carried out in accordance with
AS2243.8, by fully trained service technicians with backup experienced
engineers. We offer a service concept which none in this field
can match. The whole system, from fume cupboard to discharge stack,
should be subject to periodic inspection and maintenance. Johndec
Engineering Plastics Pty Ltd are able to institute a maintenance
program to suit your particular requirements.
MAINTENANCE AND TESTING SCHEDULE
The following maintenance and testing schedule should be used
as a guide for minimum requirements only. More frequent maintenance
may be required where the fume cupboard is in continual use.
RECOMMENDED
6 MONTHLY MAINTENANCE
1. Perform Fume Cupboard Smoke Test
2. Perform Fume Cupboard Face Velocity Test
3. Inspect and maintain fans, their motors, drives (including
belts) and bearings. Lubricate where required.
4. Inspect the fume scrubber and wash down facility, if fitted,
is functioning efficiently.
5. Inspect the fire damper and the release mechanism, if fitted
and replace fusible link, if required.
6. Check that any air-cleaning device, if fitted, is operating
efficiently and maintain if required.
RECOMMENDED ANNUAL MAINTENANCE
1. Remove any baffles and clean both the baffles and the rear
of the chamber.
2. Wash entire interior surface of the chamber including the aerofoil,
if fitted, with dilute detergent solution and repair defects as
necessary.
3. Inspect condition of services to the cupboard and ensure that
all are properly identified and operational.
4. Check stability and condition of discharge stack.
5. Inspect condition of the exhaust ducting, where possible, particularly
the joints and ensure drain points are clear.
6. Check make-up air balance.
7. Check condition and satisfactory operation of the fume cupboard
system.
8. Check operation of the emergency isolator and isolation of
services.
9. Check operation of the automatic isolator by providing inadequate
airflow condition to the fume cupboard.
10. Attach a self-adhesive label to the fume cupboard showing
the inspection date, name of inspector and report number.
